Shotgun Hill Shooting Sports

fieldhouse2.JPG (146106 bytes)

At the center of activity on Shotgun Hill is the Field House. The Field House is where all members and their guest must come to sign in and check out. It is also where the Shotgun Manager and Associates monitor the activities on the shotgun ranges. Information about upcoming events and general club information are also available in the Field House.

The Field House is also a great place to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow shooters over a glass of iced tea or a hot cup of coffee. As a seasonal refuge from the elements, the field house is a favorite retreat between rounds for shooters and spectators alike.

There are some specific Procedures on the Hill that you need to be aware of for everyone’s protection.

  • First thing upon arriving at the Hill you must sign in and sign out before departure, that is everyone that comes on the Hill.
  • You must wear your badge where we can see that you are a member.  Your cooperation on this is appreciated and is not optional.
  • Safety is our main concern! Eye Protection and Ear Protections at all times on the Hill!
  • Whether you remove your shotgun from its case in your vehicle or on the table outside, make sure it is unloaded and the action open as soon as it is removed from the case.
Gun Carry – Autoloader and Pump – muzzle up resting on the shoulder - action open and facing forward.  Hinge action – action open, muzzle forward and down resting on shoulder or over forearm.
  • Use the gun racks provided and please do not rest an assembled firearm on the table or benches since the muzzle will be pointing at someone somewhere on the Hill.
  • Your guests (up to 3 allowed) are your responsibility and they must know the rules before you begin! Ask for the rules if you did not bring yours.

We appreciate your cooperation in cleanup of your spent shells.  We have magnets around the venues and on the carts to assist you in keeping our fields clean.
