IDPA Match Divisions

Divisions

IDPA is divided into 6 regular divisions, PCC and Carry Optics that are entirely separate. None of the following divisions compete against any other division:
  1. Stock Service Pistol (SSP)
  2. Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP)
  3. Custom Defensive Pistol (CDP)
  4. Compact Carry Pistol (CCP)
  5. Revolver (REV)
  6. Back Up Gun (BUG)
  7. Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC)
  8. Carry Optics (CO)
  9. Specialty Division (SPD)
IDPA CLASSIFICATIONS

In order for shooters to be able to compete with their peers, IDPA competitors are divided into classifications within each division based upon their skill level. IDPA has a very quick and easy method of classifying shooters. Only currently affiliated clubs may award classifications and only current IDPA members may shoot the classifier or be awarded a classification by a club.

Location

IDPA matches use the RBGC Cowboy shooting complex. Take the first right up the paved road after entering through the RBGC gate. The parking lot, clubhouse with bathroom facilities and shooting bays are at the top of the hill.

River Bend Gun Club has a Cold Range policy. The club requires that all firearms be unloaded and hammer down on an empty chamber when not actively in a shooting bay. River Bend also has a strict policy requiring eye protection at all times on the property. Before leaving your car please put on your shooting glasses and leave them on the entire time you are at the range. This applies to competitors and spectators.
