Unlike single firearm matches, Multi-Gun matches require the transition from one firearm to another all within the same stage. Requiring competitors to be diverse in their training and skills. On any given stage, a competitor may be required to engage targets at distances from 2-100 yards and transition between different firearms to engage targets from within those varying distances.
Targets will vary from paper, steel, and clay. Often times "no-shoot" targets, which incur a penalty when hit, are placed near normal "shoot" targets. Props are used to simulate different scenarios that the competitor must complete. These factors combine to make Multi-Gun extremely exciting and challenging.
PCSL Multi-Gun matches are what you want to make of them. Some competitors emphasize the “Action” aspect, using their familiar firearms to develop self-defense skills and test equipment in realistic situations. Other competitors emphasize the “Game” element of the competition, using equipment they acknowledge lacks practical use but which improves their ability to generate high scores and low times. Each competitor must decide how they wants to approach the match and stages based of their individual objective.
